Research on ChungBuk Cultural Event-festivals

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to survey on cultural festivals which are done in ChungBuk to figure out their problems and to suggest a improved solution.
The survey showed that there have been about 70 festivals for a year in ChungBuk and that their themes have been natural environment, culture/physical activities and historic people. 63% of the festivals had the purpose to increase the tourists out of ChungBuk, and 60% of them held in the autumn of the year.
There are several problems of ChungBuk cultural festivals : (1) they are short of their own symbolism, (2) over the half is held in the autumn, (3) less ChungBuk people participate in them than expected, (4) short of both experts and their participation, (5) marketing is not organized. The followings are alternatives for these problems.
