TOEIC 시험에서 가장 많이 출제가 되는 문제를 꼽으라면 바로 수의 일치 문제를 들 수가 있다. 이는 모든 시험에 100% 출제가 되는데 특히, Part 6 문제로 주로 출제가 된다. 따라서 Part 6 문제를 풀 때는 항상 동사가 틀릴 가능성이 있다고 생각하고, 제일 먼저 그 동사의 주어가 무엇인지를 찾아내면 대부분의 수의 일치 문제를 해결할 수 있다.

1 주어와 동사가 수식어구에 의해서 분리되어 있는 경우가 가장 많이 출제된다.

3 관계대명사 절과 선행사 수 일치에도 유의하자.

4 Neither 나 Either가 주어로 쓰이면 항상 단수이다.

5 동사가 아니라 명사에 밑줄이 있는 경우도 있다.

6 특이한 경우의 수의 일치 문제에도 유의하자.
▶ data 자료/ media 매체 / criteria 기준, 표준 등은 항상 복수로 쓰이는 단어이다.
8. The data you handed in yesterday has a lot of spelling mistakes.

▶ 복수형이 아니라 원래 단어 끝이 s 로 끝난 명사들도 주의 한다.
